It's a Sign!

It’s a Sign!
A sign that the VOI Mitsinjo managed rainforest, which is adjacent to the Ranomafana National Park, is open to tourists and other visitors. A few months prior, a letter was delivered by the leaders of the local community organization at the National Park office, making the opening official. The Ambatolahidimy forest has had some visitors since, but there was also a need to advertise the site. The leaders asked if I could make a sign to invite visitors in. I gladly agreed.
Making the sign took a couple of weeks and it was installed next to the entrance of the forest. The same day, we cleared a small area where the reception could go. This is another step towards a hopefully well developed and well-run forest management, one which aims for the benefits of the rainforest be more palpable to the villagers.
