Join Safina Center Launchpad Fellow Belén Garcia Ovide and Ocean Missions in cleaning up the Icelandic coast! This is a 3-day team effort to clean up along the shores of Langanes Peninsula. The activities outlined on the flyer below will be launched as an open event for anyone that is interested to participate as a volunteer. Volunteers will also have time to explore the area to discover amazing places and learn from biologists, scientists and locals about the biodiversity, landscapes and history of the places. Ocean Missions hopes to register and study the whale presence from these stunning cliffs if weather and time allows with the help of the volunteers. The crew will also visit the gannet colony that is established in this area to raise awareness about seabird entanglements in marine debris.
This is a call to action to protect the end of the world! The objective of this call to action is to create movements and revolutions. It is to protect the arctic coasts from large pollution, to empower individuals to be the change we need for the planet and more importantly to send a message of hope for the Arctic!
