Erica Cirino moderates a panel discussion following the screening of PEACE WITH NATURE IN COSTA RICA at the virtual Greenwich International Film Festival

Safina Center Launchpad Fellow Erica Cirino moderates a panel discussion on how the U.S. could best reduce its carbon footprint, between filmmaker Stuart Tanner and environmental leaders from the Nature Conservancy as part of the 2020 Greenwich International Film Festival, which this year has gone virtual. The panel follows the virtual screening of Stuart Tanner’s film PEACE WITH NATURE IN COSTA RICA. The film depicts how Costa Rica, in the 1980s on the verge of losing its forests and biodiversity, made major shifts in policies and practices to protect the nation’s ecological wealth and diversity while providing income and employment for residents. The film makes clear that other nations, including the U.S., can learn much from Costa Rica’s conservation and clean energy initiatives.
