“This is a one-hour LIVE Zoom webinar for those who love sheep, want to learn more about sheep sentience and intelligence, and are interested in using science to inform animal advocacy.
In collaboration with the Kimmela Center for Animal Advocacy, Farm Sanctuary’s research team aims to take you on a journey into the inner lives of sheep. Do sheep recognize each other? What sorts of emotions do they feel? Are they moody? Do they have individual personalities?
We will:
1) Highlight the latest research on sheep sentience
2) Interview sheep cognition scientist, Dr. Camille Raoult about her experience working with sheep to learn about their moods
3) Take you into the sheep barn with one of Farm Sanctuary’s caregivers to hear stories that illustrate sheep sentience on the farm (and maybe meet some of our residents!)
4) Have an opportunity to join a live Q&A with a Farm Sanctuary caregiver, Farm Sanctuary’s director of research, sheep researcher Dr. Camille Raoult, and Dr. Lori Marino of the Kimmela Center for Animal Advocacy.
Sheep are intriguing individuals with their own needs, preferences, and personalities. We invite you to get to know them better.” — Farm Sanctuary Project
