This New York State Marine Education Association’s 2025 conference is scheduled for May 3 at SUNY Maritime in the Bronx, and features a keynote presentation from Carl Safina where he will discuss his book Alfie & Me and the lasting relationship with an orphaned owl that illuminated our relationship with the natural world.

The event includes three meals, field trips, the keynote presentation, an awards ceremony, two workshop sessions, and a celebratory cocktail party in honor of NYSMEA’s 50th anniversary.

Registration for the event costs $100 and covers all meals and activities for the entire day. Students may register at a discounted rate of $25.
