Some problems exist with this species' status or catch methods, or information is insufficient for evaluating. Haddock – Iceland These fish contain levels of mercury or PCBs that may pose a health risk to adults and children.

Haddock is an important fishery in Iceland. Most Haddock are caught using habitat-damaging bottom trawls but also with bottom longlines and gillnets.

Several management measures are in place to protect Haddock, but there is a limited information on the species’ abundance. As well, more information is needed about non-target catches in this fishery.
