Jeffrey F. Rizzo has been the Chief Financial Officer of the Community Service Society (CSS) since 2004. Previously, he spent nearly 20 years as Managing Director of the Public Finance Group at Moody’s Investors Service. He was also Director of Finance for the New York Sate Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Controller for Marble Collegiate Church in New York City. Among Mr. Rizzo’s professional honors are Omicron Delta Epsilon (the National Honor Society in Economics), an inaugural membership on the All American Municipal Analysts Team, and a listing in Who’s Who in America. He serves on several boards, including the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and The United Charities Board of Managers.
Mr. Rizzo has served on the faculty of the Mayors Leadership Institute and the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission. He has multiple publications on topics varying from governments to public infrastructure projects. He led the financing efforts for restoration of Grand Central Terminal and was instrumental in sponsoring Moody’s first television program, “How Will Our Cities Survive,” in association with the US Conference of Mayors and PBS/Philadelphia. In addition, he was appointed to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Task Force on Accounting Issues for Nonprofit Organizations. Mr. Rizzo earned his B.A. in Economics from Fairfield University (CT) and studied at New York University’s Graduate School of Public Administration.
