Safina Center “Kalpana Chawla ‘Launchpad’ Fellow” Molly Adams and the Feminist Bird Club join a walk with Outdoor Afro NYC in Central Park, NYC, on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 8:30am. Join Akilah Lewis and Jeffrey Ward from the Feminist Bird Club and Katina Grays of Outdoor Afro NYC for a guided walk during fall migration in Central Park. We will be looking for warblers and other migratory birds as they pass through NYC, as well as local resident species.
The Feminist Bird Club is excited to be partnering with Outdoor Afro, a community that reconnects African-Americans with natural spaces and one another through recreational activities such as camping, hiking, biking, birding, fishing, gardening, skiing — and more!
This walk is open to all but note that this event was designed to create intentional space for African Americans and other people of color.
No prior bird-watching experience necessary! Please wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars if you have them. If you need to borrow a pair, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Location: Central Park, Central Park West and 72nd street, New York, NY
