Tara’s research ranges from sustainable aquaculture to the impacts to fish physiology from over-harvesting. She is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University in Boston where she serves as Faculty Head of the Three Seas Program and Marine Biology Major advisor. Her teaching includes Marine Biology, Oceanography, Food Security and Sustainability, Invertebrate Zoology, and Evolution. She is currently building a course in Romania and Greece titled “Food, Forests, and Fisheries: the rewilding, recultivating, and reimagining of Europe” for the summer of 2019 with Safina Center fellow, Paul Greenberg.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and family, knitting sea creatures, swimming, and cooking.
